Let this be a super late post of my favorites last month and early this month. (Better late than never, right?)
My last favorites post was 4 months ago, so please accept my sincerest apologies for not being consistent. Please take me back, I’ll do better! Anyway, there’s nothing new with my life–still busy with work and rakets, still eating lots of food, and still buying things I sorta need for my face, body, and hair. So without further ado, here are top 10 things that have been making ME bounce like a ball because of sheer joy and excitement.
Shu Uemura’s Vision of Beauty Collection Vol. 2
I actually got this for free at an event and the moment I swatched them and played with them at home, I loved them. The formula glides on my skin and lips, they have great colour payoff, and they come in bright, exciting colors. They literally add a pop of colour to my life, especially those lippies! My most favorite of the bunch would have to be their tint in gelato, it’s a lip and cheek color in the shade urban coral (such a cool name). It may look super bright in the tube but once it transfers to my lips and skin, it gives me the most natural lip and cheek color! (If you want a solo review of that lemme know in the comments!)
L’Oreal Le Teint True Match in The Shade N4
I have oily skin so I’ve been avoiding liquid foundations ever since. However, I won this one at an event so I had to try it out! Their websites says:
Precisely matches your skin texture & tone and reveals better skin quality.Super Blendable texture glides & melt onto skin with no cakey effect. Long lasting and natural make-up result and gives you 24H hydration.
I have to agree with everything except for the 24H hydration part because I never really got to wear it for 24 hours to test for myself. (Who wears makeup for 24 hours? :|)I am in love with its liquidy formula. It’s a good buy for first timers like me because it blends easily and come in various shades that looks like second skin. I swear, I thought my shade was an in-between but L’Oreal made it possible for me to have the exact shade. (The N7 suits my tanned skin for the upcoming summer season)
This is actually now part of my “signature” makeup look and will definitely be in my holy grail drugstore makeup stash.
L’Oreal Professionnel Hair Products
Another free item from an event (hehe) are these hair products from L’Oreal, particularly their Absolut Repair Shampoo and Mask because they make my super thick and spiky hair tame itself down to a sleek, wash and wear hairstyle. Whenever I use them together, my hair always behaves at its best!
Ehrm, who doesn’t love Zalora? I swear, “tambay” ako sa website nila! I browse through their site at least once a week and “add to cart” stuff I want to buy. I don’t immediately buy them, I let them hang-out there for a while first until I’m ready to buy them. I usually work within a budget so I choose the best one when it comes to checkout time! Now, I’m into their blues dresses. Apparently, it’s spring’s hottest color and it has been new black ever since. I’ve been loving the navy blue and powder blue shades. Here are my top picks for casual and night-out pieces. If you want to know how to wear spring’s top color trend, click this link: BLUE!
I’ve been seeing these socks around the metro, particularly in bazaars, Eastwood Mall, and lately, at SM Department stores. What I love most about them is their wide range of designs for men’s socks that are uber quirky and affordable! More or less 200 Php per pair, and for it’s quality, that’s actually a fair price! When I saw them (and had a few Pesos to spare) I bought one immediately and gave it to Hans. He loved it!
I rarely go to bazaars because I feel like it’s easier to catch their items online rather than go to their booths. However, the recently concluded Spectrum Fair was a big exception. It’s not your usual bazaar of online sellers, it’s a bazaar of finely curated local brands! It was nice to see all the upcoming coffee shops, dessert places, restaurants, artisan soap shops, clothing lines, and even art shops gather under one roof to present their stuff. I can’t wait for the next one this November!
Charles and Keith Bags
I’m currently on the lookout for that perfect black leather bag that will fit my 13 inch laptop, makeup kit, and other work essentials. It has to be sleek and sturdy but not too expensive (or at least worth the splurge). Right now, the brand that fits my budget best is Charles and Keith and I’ve been obsessing over their bags for quite a while. I’ve already narrowed down my choices to 5 but we’ll see if I have the guts to spend 5k-ish on one bag. (That’s always the issue for me.)
Let me use this blog post as an opportunity to thank my Fleur Muses! My online shop is still struggling to be out there so a little shoutout from my favorite fashion bloggers really made my heart jump for joy! Also, we’re currently searching for more Fleur Muses! If you want to become one, check out our Instagram account to know how!
If wasn’t for my colleague, I would not have known that Unit 27 exists! I think this is the perfect Bar for those who just want to have great time with their friends over a few glasses of wine/cocktails and comfort food. It’s on the pricey side but it was totally worth it!
Aside from the fact that my friends and I spent our reunion here, this restaurant also served one of the best Apple Pie ala Modes’s that I have ever tasted! I know Dulcelin’s Mango Torte is the boss around here but their Apple Pie ala Mode brought the house down for me. The pie itself was perfect–it had the right mix of sweet caramel cinnamon and the zing from the apples, the crust was soft and didn’t crumble, and the combination of cold ice cream and warm pie happily melted inside my mouth!
That sums up my list! How about you? Any favorites of yours you’d like me to try? Let me know in the comments below!
